The composting toilet will soon have a hand basin, paper towel and antibacterial liquid soap dispensers, many of the allotment holders spoken to agreed that washing hands with soap and water was preferable to using gels.
The basin will be fed by a rainwater tank to be built on the side of the toilet building. The waste water will be piped into the soak away pipework thereby directing the water away from the composting chambers. The new improvements are being installed by volunteers and as such an exact date for completion isn’t yet known, however orders for the materials required have already been made so it is hoped that everything will be up and running in April
