“I suggested setting up a WhatsApp group for Pitshanger Allotments as I’m conscious that it’s a large allotment and although there are several social events a year, it’s easy to only know your immediate neighbours. I felt a group would help people feel connected, share information and get to know other members. I also felt it would be useful as a way of quickly spreading information where there’s a break-in for example, as we had a few months ago”……………….

give away surplus produce/equipment
share tips and photos
publicise what’s for sale in the hut
send reminders from the committee
find someone to water your plot while you’re away
check how things need to be presented for the show
